Internships in Spain
As the colorful capital of Spain’s Catalonia region, Barcelona is a beachy hub of progressive business and funky culture. The city tumbles down the forested Montjuic hill, winding through cobbled streets lined with ancient apartments until reaching the shores of the Meditteranean. Residents speak both Castilian Spanish and local Catalan, offering a unique opportunity for language-learning. Most will know the region’s famed artists — including Juan Miro, Antoni Gaudi, Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali — but fantastic art isn’t the only thing that awaits you with an internship in Barcelona. The city boasts a truly intriguing blend of French-leaning Catalonian culture, traditional Spanish vibes, and dozens of global influences from its diverse business and cultural scenes. Spend hours strolling through Park Güell at the top of the city, then wind your way downtown through the Gracia and Eixample neighborhoods, ending your evening with a treat of churros and chocolate in the Gothic Quarter. Or: try your hand at the authentic Spanish dish Paella with a cooking class (included in all World Internships programs) and take in an FC Barcelona night game at Camp Nou stadium.
Going to work was something to look forward to everyday. I’ve grown more confident in myself and independent. Coming towards the end of my trip I find myself not wanting to leave. I have established a part of me in Barcelona.
