Program Overview
Thailand established a universal healthcare system in 2002, providing coverage to over 99% of residents between public employee services, elder care, and universal healthcare for all others. Not surprisingly, universal healthcare does not mean easy and fair access for all, especially rural areas, which is where additional support for care and outreach is much needed. You’ll experience a blend of Eastern and Western medical practices as you shadow public health professionals attempting to expand the scope and reach of Thailand’s over-extended healthcare system.
