|Organization:||Sustainable Farming NGO|
Role, Responsibilities and Experience
Rural Ecuadorian communities thrive off of, and depend on, sustainable harvest of the Guayusa plant. Working with a leading agroforestry organization, you’ll help indigenous farmers grow, harvest, use and sell the Guayusa to support their communities.You’ll have the opportunity to see the ins-and-outs of a social enterprise. You’ll develop sustainable agroforestry techniques, help with harvest, and work with local farmers to help sustain their practices. Many interns travel to local farms throughout the area as well, so this is a wonderful opportunity to see a large part of the country. You’ll gain hands-on farming and crop rotation skills while also developing the ability to manage a social enterprise, connect cross-culturally, and develop sustainable farming strategies that fit best with each local community.
Eat local food, visit the equator and experience Quilotoa, the emerald lagoon inside a volcano crater, as part of your orientation weekend.
Learn to work effectively in a cross-cultural setting by understanding your own work style. GlobeSmart -- an innovative online profile -- will help you make the most of your professional experience.
Enter the country with ease and come back home with a plan. We will provide you with the career guidance and recommendation you need to land your next job.
Find a job in your field or we’ll refund your program tuition! We believe in the value of our programs so much that we will refund you your program tuition if you are not able to land a job in the field of your program within one year of completing your program. fas fa-star
